Adult CPR/AED:
This class covers emergency scene size-up and keeping yourself safe, legal liabilities, patient consent, preventing infectious disease transmission, how to differentiate between responsive and non-responsive patients, and how to collect appropriate medical history from patients.
Learn how to respond to cardiac emergencies in adults, including the signs and symptoms of heart attack in men and women, cardiac arrest, how to do Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) with and without rescue breathing, and when and how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
Many people choose to combine their CPR/AED course with a First Aid course and certification.
Prerequisites: Students must be able to demonstrate understanding of class concepts, and physically perform the skills presented.
Course Length: 5.5 hours
Certification: After successful completion of the class, students will receive an American Red Cross Adult CPR/AED Certification that is valid for two years. Certificates are digital (PDF files) and can be printed, saved, or emailed.
Standards: This class meets OSHA and workplace safety requirements.

Child and Infant CPR/AED (Pediatric CPR/AED):
This class covers child and infant (also referred to as pediatric) emergencies and care. It covers emergency scene size-up and keeping yourself safe, legal liabilities, patient consent including consent for minors, preventing infectious disease transmission, how to differentiate between responsive and non-responsive patients, and how to collect appropriate medical history from or about patients.
You will learn the difference between adult and pediatric cardiac emergencies, the specific techniques to use when doing Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) on children and infants, including Automated External Defibrillator (AED) use and AED pad placement on children and infants.
Many people choose to combine their CPR/AED course with a First Aid course and certification. If you choose to do so, our Child and Infant First Aid course will also teach you the specific techniques to treat choking and first aid emergencies in children and infants.
