Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) is designed to train professionals to respond to cardiac and breathing emergencies in adult, child, and infant patients to improve patient outcomes. Designed specifically for healthcare professionals and first-responders, our BLS courses deliver information on emergency scene size-up and keeping yourself safe, legal liabilities and considerations, and the importance of communication and teamwork.
In BLS, skills training focuses on high-performance CPR on adults, children, and infants, including Automated External Defibrillator (AED) use and AED pad placement on adult, children, and infants. These skills cover what to do as an individual, but focus on team-based responses, and how techniques change when you have multiple responders or advanced airways on a patient.
This course is what many healthcare providers and professionals take to meet their requirements for professional licensure under Alaska Statutes; however, please be sure to consult your licensing authority before signing up.
